Boston Bruins furious after controversial goal review against Panthers
The second round playoff series between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers has been nothing Short of entertaining to say the least. First Sam Bennett takes out the Boston Bruins, captain Brad Marchand with what we now know Is a dirty sucker punch and now he's public enemy number one again after a controversial review.
As you can see in the clip below, Bennett pushes the Bruins defending player into Jeremy Swayman, and then deposits the puck into the net for the tying goal, which, obviously after a review in which the goal Stood had the Bruins up in arms and rightfully so; take a look.
If that wasn't bad enough, the rule is if the attacking player puts the puck into the net after pushing the defending player into their goalie, the goal should not count.
Bennett wasn't public enemy number one already he sure is now. If that wasn't bad enough shortly after the controversial tangle goes in Florida scores the leading goal and now lead late in the third period by a score of 3 to 2.
If I was the Boston Bruins or their fans, not only would I be mad right now, I would let the league hear it after the game too. The standard officiating has gone downhill year over year for a few seasons now, and this is absolutely atrocious for the second round of the playoffs. Jim Montgomery was incensed behind the bench and I don't blame him in the slightest.
