Toronto Maple Leas general manager Brad Treliving has opened up about the position star Mitch Marner has put him in, It might surprise you. Especially with the heat around Marner himself currently.

With all the rumours surrounding Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs, this off-season, whether that be about him not wanting to move his no trade clause or the fact that multiple teams have reached out to check in on the availability of the Maple Leaf star. It's been rather quiet from the Toronto Maple Leafs front office, that is until now.

According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, General manager, Brad Treliving Has opened up about whether or not he would be willing to trade Marner if it would be in the best interest of the team.

When asked about Mitch Marner, Brad Treliving said the Leafs won't trade him just for the sake of it

Treliving has noted that while Mitch Marner has a lot of the control with the no trade clause in question they would be willing to move him if the fit was right, but they won't make a trade for the sake of making it. He's also noted that the trade has to make sense and make the Leafs a better team all around.

From the sounds of it, this isn't something that's gonna be done in the off-season but rather something that might drag out into the regular season and next off-season before Marner hits free agency if something is to get done.

The Maple Leaf fans have a legitimate gripe with murder in his play in recent years, especially because he looks disengaged and disinterested, but he still a player that'll put up close to 100 points per season and a return on a player like that has to make sense for the team that's going to trade away a Superstar.
