After an explosive 3-1 game earlier in the tournament, USA and Canada are set to battle again, and Cale Makar believes it could be just as physical and exciting.
The first matchup between Team USA and Canada at the Four Nations Face Off was full of drama, physicality and everything the NHL could have hoped for at this tournament, with Head Coach Jon Cooper summing it up in one simple word; mayhem.
Now, Team Canada gets their chance at revenge after a dramatic 5-3 victory over Finland on Monday, setting up a blockbuster rematch in Boston on Thursday to determine the first ever winner of the Four Nations Face Off.
According to former U-Mass star and current Canadian star Cale Makar, Boston is the perfect city to host what many are calling the biggest hockey game of all time, stating that he wouldn't be surprised if things started red-hot in the rematch as well.
"We could for sure... I think everybody's going to be fired up for it and excited. There's probably not a better city in the US to have this game in."
In the first matchup, Makar was out due to illness, giving the United States a major advantage with Canada already missing both Shea Theodore and Alex Pietrangelo, but after a good game against Finland, the Colorado Avalanche star is back and confident in Canada's chances.
Ultimately, it's highly unlikely that we will see three fights in the first 10 seconds of the rematch, with the focus purely on the Four Nations title, but with so much talent and physicality on the ice, this is bound to be an incredible matchup that could truly make a mark on the history of the sport.
