The United States just announced the loss of Charlie McAvoy for the Four Nations Finale, and now, they're calling upon their biggest star to potentially save them as Head Coach Mike Sullivan has now announced a dramatic roster move ahead of the Championship Game.

The Four Nations Championship Game is officially set, and after the fireworks in game one, the clash between the United States and Canada is going to be an incredible one for the NHL.

Unfortunately for the USA, they've now ruled out star defenseman Charlie McAvoy, with the team taking a major blow ahead of the rematch with Team Canada.

That's led to speculation about what they can do with their roster, with Frank Seravalli noting that since they've got six defenseman, they can't bring anyone else in to play in the finale, as Canada earlier in the tournament were down to five defenseman before bringing in Thomas Harley.

However, top NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has now revealed that in a shocking turn of events, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes is now set to join camp ahead of Thursday's blockbuster in Boston after originally missing the tournament due to injury.

It's unclear at this point whether or not Hughes is eligible to play in the finale given that the team already have six defenseman on the roster, with Canada's Thomas Harley not able to practice or be with the team since the return of Cale Makar following his illness.

Ultimately, this could change everything for what has been an incredible tournament thus far, and if somehow we see Hughes in the lineup for the finale against Team Canada, it would give the US an amazing boost as they look to win their first gold medal in a best-on-best tournament in quite some time.
