Canadian Air Traffic controllers have fun at Florida Panthers pilots' expense
The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers are in the thick of the Stanley Cup final. While the travel is the furthest between two cities in Cup finals history, it seems Mother Nature didn't want the Panthers to get to Edmonton in time for game three on Thursday night.
The air traffic controllers along with other pilots in the air also had a little fun with the pilots who were in charge of bringing the Eastern Conference champions into Edmonton for game three. But it's worth the listen as many were trying to figure out if the plane could be diverted and forced to land elsewhere and even a suggestion of running low on fuel was floated.
Have a look & listen:
While the Panther arrived safely at Edmonton International Airport, after some unfortunate delays due to the weather in the Florida panhandle, and by all accounts, everyone who commented is a professional and was joking it's great to hear regular people talking about the Stanley Cup and any circumstances regarding it.
Although the Oilers have home-ice advantage for game three, they have their backs against the wall and will need to have the best game of their season tonight to at least have a chance to even the series Saturday night.
Even if travel or weather isn't a factor for the weekend, they must get off to a good start on Thursday and carry the momentum into Saturday.
