With the departure of Jeff Merek from Sportsnet yesterday after more than a decade it puts the future of 32 Thoughts in the air, but Friedman has broken his silence.
Yesterday news officially broke that longtime Sportsnet tribute and on air personality Jeff Merek officially had left the company. With that many people were left wondering what would happen to the very popular podcast which Merek co-hosted with Elliotte Friedman.
According to Friedman himself through a post on his X account that paid tribute to his former colleague and co-host, 32 Thoughts: The Podcast will continue on.
When we started the podcast, Sportsnet asked if I wanted to do it myself or have a co-host. I liked the idea of playing off someone;
@moorescottmoore
suggested Jeff Marek.
It was brilliant. Jeff has his loopy suggestions, but they made for fun debates and great moments.
Life throws curveballs at you. I will miss being his teammate, and thank him for being a tremendous co-pilot on the start to our 32 Thoughts podcasting voyage which will continue.
After a heartfelt tribute to someone who was a dear friend and teammate, Friedman did mention the podcast would continue.
Exactly how is still unknown at this time, but I'm sure many people would be happy with the news that Friedman will carry on with the project.
