We are saddened to announce the death of former ice hockey forward Andrzej Hachuła, who passed away at 64 years of age.
A highly valued player whose career in the sport lasted for almost two decades, he was a worthy addition to both Polish and German teams.
He was considered a very aggressive player, full of commitment. This is his legacy, which lives on in the memory of fans and teammates alike.
Hachuła began his career in the country of Poland, playing for the best teams, including Naprzod Janow, KTH-Legia Krynica, and GKS Katowice. Skilled and dedicated, between 1978 and 1989, he earned his place among Poland's best players.
Hachuła was to prove a consistent player and dedicated member of whatever team he represented.
In 1990, he moved to Germany to join REV Bremerhaven and played his matches in the second and third-tier leagues until 1997.
This was also the time when he managed to display his skills internationally because his German experience brought him closer to several fans outside Poland.
Andrzej Hachuła's merits for the hockey community are recognized, and his love for the game is remembered, along with his commitment to each team on the ice.
His memory will continue to live in the hearts of the fans, teammates, and the overall hockey world.
