Unless you're a diehard hockey fan, you probably haven't heard if the Elite Ice Hockey League. The league was centre stage earlier this season with regards to the tragic passing of Adam Johnson and the controversy surrounding the incident that led to his untimely passing, which brought the conversation of neck guards to the forefront for a number of months.

A video has surfaced in which head coach Jason Morgan describes some injuries his team endured towards the end of the season, which many of his players fought through, including goaltender Antti Karjalainen, who was playing with an apparent concussion that he received the night before along with a sprained wrist.

Have a look:

Explaining that your team was dealing with injuries during the stretch run of your season is nothing new and has been a topic of discussion quite often during end-of-year press conferences and interviews, but openly discussing that one of your players was playing after being diagnosed with a concussion is certainly something new.

Whatever Morgan's thought process was to disclose such a sensitive topic, one would hope that he doesn't lose his job. It would be one thing if their player did not disclose that he believed he was experiencing a concussion; it would be a totally different issue if the player and team were hiding the concussion and the team willingly allowed the player to participate, which seems like the likely scenario here.
