Auston Matthews, who is arguably the best hockey player in the world right now, recorded his second consecutive hat trick and his sixth of the season last night as the Maple Leafs absolutely hammered the Anaheim Ducksthe final score being 9-2.
Just as you would normally see when a hat trick occurs at a game, attendees threw their hats on the ice in celebration of Matthews' unbelievable feat. But this funny clip, posted by Pavel Lubanski on X, shows just how insufferable some Leafs fans can be even when something good happens.
An overjoyed fan in the stands grabs the hat of the man sitting in front of him and chucks it on the ice, probably without even thinking and definitely without asking. The owner of the hat is clearly mad, turning back to scream, «Dude, why'd you do that? That's not your f hat, that's my f hat!»
As funny as it may be, we can only hope the guy easily got his hat back after the game was over. By the looks of the vintage Leafs sweater he was wearing, he's probably had that hat for a while and definitely had no plans on losing it.
