Matthew Tkachuk takes a shot at the Maple Leafs after elimination
It certainly has been an eventful 24 hours for the Toronto Maple Leafs after being eliminated in games seven of their first round series against the Boston Bruins. Now that they're out, it seems more than just the Bruins are taking pot at them, which was expected I think the only person besides Brad Marchand, who is likely to go in on the leafs the way that he has is none other than Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.
According to Jori Negin-Shecter Of Sportsnet, Matthew Tkachuk Didn't hold back when asked about who he knew was going to win the series eventually; I think a lot of fans alike shared the same sentiment. Take a look.
Tkachuk: Without this coming out too badly, I think we all knew it was probably going to Boston the way that series was going...I think throughout the whole series we were probably expecting they were going to come out and win it one way or another.
You expect this from Tkachuk for sure, but I don't think the Bruins winning this series was his cut and dry as he's making it out to be. After going down 3 games to 1 the Leafs battled back and force overtime in game seven. Boston appeared to be the team that was on the ropes, Overtime came around the bounce went their way and the Leafs are now out
Given the Maple Leaf history, though, Maybe Tkachuk was on to something. He's never been one to shy from stirring the pot and this is a prime example of that at this point, the Toronto Maple Leafs don't deserve anything more and is more or less just doing his job.
