Being drafted by a National Hockey League team should be a dream for most people, but sometimes, organizations and players don't work out the way both parties thought they would. This forces either the player or organization's hand. Now the Flyers could lose one of their top prospects overseas as he's trying to force his way out a of his Entry Level contract.
According to journalist Ivan Bragun and Hockey Worldwide, Flyers top goaltending prospect Aleksei Kolosov has asked for help from Dinamo Minsk to leave North America as things haven't gone quite as planned.
Aleksei Kolosov, 22, spent the majority of last season with Dinamo Minsk before finishing the year with Philadelphia's American Hockey League Affiliate, The Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Where he could've struggled adapting to his new surroundings.
Either way, asking the team who the Flyers loaned you to for a large part of the season to help you break your contract doesn't look too good.
I hope for Kolosov's sake everything works out in the end, but with the Flyers track record in drafting recently, maybe they should choose players they know want to eventually play in the NHL.
