Six people who allegedly got into a fight with NHL broadcaster and podcaster Paul Bissonnette have had their mugshots released by police in Arizona
It's been a whirlwind couple of days for former NHLer turned broadcaster and podcaster Paul Bissonnette. A total of six people were arrested following a fight in Scottsdale, Arizona
With the arrests now made official, police have released mugshots of the six people who were taken into custody. All six look to be worse for wear following the altercation with Bissonnette.
Paul Bissonnette has already given a full explanation of the events that led to his hospitalization. It all started at a place called "Houston's," where Bissonnette was waiting for a table.
From there Bissonnette said someone started yelling at an assistant manager, and that's when he decided to get involved.
"So I get up and I go over. And I grab the guy's arm and I say, 'Listen buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here we're gonna go outside and we're gonna have problems.' And the moment that left my mouth the guy beside him starts throwing punches.
They get me down and they're throwing punches, I'm able to get back up and I lose my shoe. I'm taking some and I'm giving some. I would say about the entire time there was about 5 - 7 of them... and I kept having to back pedal.
"We kind of rounded the corner and the bald gentleman who originally threw the first punch makes a bee-line and sprints past all the guys coming at me and I catch him with a nice right and buckled him. I was very, very, VERY, VERY happy about that but that seemed to re-ignite them. I make my way around the dumpster and four of them got me on the ground. If you get caught on the ground and they start kicking you in the head and if you go unconscious then you don't know what the consequences are. I ate three kicks, one in the neck, two in the head. Was able to get up and now at this point I have no shoes on... no shirt."
"So, I'm finally able to run into a CVS and they didn't come in the CVS... by the time the altercation was done they were able to book five of these guys and get them in jail. I'll get their names and this is gonna be a thing. I'll go after every single one of those f--ks."
Paul Bissonnette was never afraid to drop the gloves during his time in the NHL, and it looks like that has carried over to his personal life. I bet the staff were very grateful for what he did.
Bissonnette played all his games in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Phoenix Coyotes. After his retirement, he got into broadcasting, and eventually podcasting with Spittin' Chiclets.
