The rumours surrounding Mitch Marner this off-season have been countless and unrelenting as to where he will go if he'll be traded before next season or if he'll finish his contract out with the Toronto Maple Leafs, But things might not always be as they seem.
According to a report by David Alter and The Hockey News, the Toronto Maple Leafs may not be sold on the need to trade Mitch Marner out of Toronto just yet.
According to the report, the Leafs are not in a rush to force a trade for my Toronto, and contrary to other reports, they have not asked for a list of teams that he would be willing to accept a trade to. This is a complete 180 from all the discourse we've heard so far this off-season.
One thing is certain, though the relationship between the two sides is fractured at the moment, and Mitch Marner's camp isn't happy with all of the rumours being spread about their client. When you're In one of the biggest hockey markets, these things are bound to happen though.
Do you think there's any possibility that Mitch Marner stays a leaf after next season or is the relationship too far gone and has the fanbase been alienated enough for them to push him out? We'll have to wait and see but this makes for an interesting off-season.
