The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face their old Southeast Division rivals, the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final and will be doing so by getting a massive boost to their forward group.

On Monday, Teuvo Teravainen was a full participant at the team's practice as they prepare for Game 1, which will likely be played at some point later this week.

Tervainen has been out of the Hurricanes' lineup since early in their first round series against the New York Islanders after getting slashed in the hand by Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

The Finnish forward broke his hand on the play and had to undergo surgery just over three weeks ago, so his return to being a full participant at practice is pretty remarkable.

Following practice on Monday, Teravainen spoke with reporters about his impending return to the Hurricanes lineup.

"It's kind of crazy," Teravainen said. "I thought for sure I was done but doctors did a really good job and it looks like getting back pretty soon. It's awesome to see what the boys have done, a really good job playing really good hockey. It's tough to watch the games from outside. You always want to be helping but they've done a really good job."

The 28-year-old, who's in his seventh season with the Carolina Hurricanes organization, had 37 points (12 G, 25 A) in 68 games during the regular season, while also playing a key role on the penalty kill.
