Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks working to finalize trade that would benefit both teams
The Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks are at completely different ends of the NHL standings. The two teams are headed in different directions, but that makes them perfect trade partners. Today Elliotte Friedman broke the news that the two teams are working to try and finalize a deal.
The deal would allow the Bruins to clear salary cap, while the Hawks could acquire more assets to assist in their rebuild.
Just something to keep an eye on: believe Boston and Chicago are discussing possibilities that could benefit the Blackhawks and ease the Bruins' cap situation. We will see where it goes.
The Bruins have been interested in retaining the services of Tyler Bertuzzi but to do that they would need to clear major cap space. Names like Derek Forbort, Taylor Hall and Mike Reilly could all be cap casualties for the Bruins.
