Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes trade two brothers for each other
In what was a very disappointing Trade Deadline, the league saw a trade late today that saw two teams trade brothers for each other. In a last minute trade the Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes completed a deal. That deal saw two brothers exchange for teams, for what appears to be the one of the first time in NHL history.
Full CAL/ARIZ trade: Stecher and Ritchie for Mackey and Ritchie. Brothers get traded for each other
The deal sees Nick Ritchie go from the Coyotes to the Flames in exchange for his brother Brett who goes the opposite direction. There are multiple occasions where brothers have played for one and other, but this appears to be the only instance where brothers have been exchanged for each other.
This trade provides the Flames with a couple new options as they try and make a potential playoff push for a Wild Card spot and brings in a couple Darryl Sutter type players.
