Weeks into the off-season the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning have come together on a major trade involving Ryan McDonagh.

We're both the Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning saw their season come to a premature end in the first round. Now heading into the off-season both teams are working on ways to improve their franchise. Today the team's got a jump start on that by completing a trade that sent Ryan McDonagh back to the Tampa Bay Lightning after just 2 years in Nashville.

The deal was announced this morning and McDonagh return to Tampa Bay where he was traded just two seasons ago as a cap dump. The Nashville Predators release the details of the deal on their official X account just moments ago.

Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz announced today that the team has acquired a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for defenseman Ryan McDonagh and Edmonton's fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

This season McDonagh played in 74 games, scoring 3 goals and added 29 assists. He was +19 and had 31 penalty minutes. McDonagh also played in 6 playoff games, recording 1 assist and 6 penalty minutes.
