Scottsdale Police have just released video of Alex Galchenyuk being arrest back in July, and it is anything but flattering for the former NHLer.
As you may recall, The Arizona Coyotes placed Galchenyuk on waivers in the summer, but at first refused to say why. Galchenyuk himself later released a statement, with an apology, detailing what had happened. At the time, information taken from the police report said Galchenyuk was arrested after his car had damaged property. It also stated he had made some serious threats towards on officer and their family members, as well as using some other strong words. The video backs that up.
Galchenyuk ended up signing in the KHL and has been playing there since. While he was initially charged with private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, and threatening or intimidating, in August he plead guilty to one misdemeanor charge of threatening. He was sentenced to 30 days of jail, but that length will be reduced by 27 on the completion of an alcohol recovery program and going 12 months without consuming alcohol.
