Some hockey players are never content with the team that they're on, whether that be because of their role, opportunities for playing time or an external factor. Even winning a Stanley Cup as the Vegas Golden Knights did last season doesn't seem like it's enough to keep goaltender Logan Thompson around.
According to Hockey Blogger Eklund, it appears that Thompson wants out of the Knights organization while his value would still be fairly high; take a look.
Thompson, 26, played in just 37 games for the Golden Knights last season. He posted a record of 21-13-3 with a 2.65 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. He dealt with multiple injuries last year, which unfortunately caused him to miss the playoffs after re-aggravating an existing injury on March 23.
It could be that Thompson is looking for a fresh start to put all his injuries behind him and if he is, look for the New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres or Carolina Hurricanes to look into him.
Before his injuries last season, the one thing Thompson proved was that he could handle a steady workload and put up solid numbers. If he truly wants to leave, the Golden Knights will have no shortage of suitors.
