Popular hockey personality and former NHLer Paul Bissonnette was injured while attempting to dissolve an interaction at a restaurant in Scottsde, AZ.

According to a report from FOX 10 Phoenix, citing the Scottsdale Police Department, Bissonnette was the victim of an incident involving multiple adult men who had been arguing with staff of Houston's, which led to Bissonnette getting in the altercation with the intent of breaking up the conflict.

It's unclear the exact events of what transpired during the incident, but according to multiple reports, Bissonnette was fought by six men who had severely attacked the analyst and former player.

NBC 12 reported that Bissonnette was taken to hospital over the incident, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

As a positive sign, Bissonnette has been active on social media following yesterday's incident, announcing an episode of his podcast with former NHL head coach Bruce Boudreau.

Bissonnette was a six-year NHL veteran, with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Phoenix Coyotes.

Bissonnette had 22 points in 202 career games, but found greater prominence off the ice with the hockey podcast, 'Spittin Chiclets', as well as a hockey analyst for TNT.

Bissonnette officially retired from the NHL in 2017, taking on a role with the Coyotes that same year as a radio color commentator for the team.

The year after, Bissonnette joined up with former teammate Ryan Whitney to start the 'Spittin Chiclets' podcast, apart of the Barstool Sports media team.

The show became a massive success for it's no-holds-barred approach to hockey content, a break from traditional sports media in a then-growing podcast market.

Bissonnette has also been an on-air TV analyst for TNT Sports for their hockey coverage, a role he has held since 2022
