Ducks sign 12-year NHL veteran to professional tryout contract
The Anaheim Ducks announced on Thursday that they've signed longtime NHL forward Zack Kassian to a professional tryout contract.
Kassian, 32, will join the Anaheim Ducks in September for training camp and pre-season and will try to earn an NHL contract for the 2023-24 season.
The Ducks currently don't have any issues with their salary cap and with the need for protection for their young stars such as Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale, potentially even Leo Carlsson, signing Zack Kassian for one-year to play a fourth line role is a realistic possibility.
The Windsor, Ontario native spent the 2022-23 season with the Arizona Coyotes where he put up two goals, 50 penalty minutes and was a minus-18 in 51 games.
