The future of the Coyotes in Arizona is beginning to look grim and there's a very good chance that relocation could be on the horizon. But as we all know, Gary Bettman won't let this team go down without a fight and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman discussed that on his '32 Thoughts' podcast on Wednesday.

On the podcast, Friedman said that he thinks that the National Hockey League doesn't want to abandon the Arizona market and wonders if they could somehow partner with the Phoenix Suns to share Footprint Center.

"I don't think the NHL wants to abandon the Arizona market unless it absolutely has to, it's too big, it's one of the largest metro markets in the United States, I think they will not leave until they go down every path." Friedman said.

He added, "I wouldn't be surprised if Gary Bettman and the NHL, if they haven't already, meet with him to gauge his interest in supporting the idea of turning the Suns current rink into a facility that can also support the Coyotes."

Friedman went on to say that if there can't be a partnership with the Phoenix Suns, then the attention will turn to moving the team out of the state of Arizona, but he isn't sure if they'll move immediately or after the 2023-24 season.

"If there is no local option with the Suns then it's about moving the team, I think the question becomes, do you move the team now or do they play another year there?"

When it comes to relocation, Houston appears to be the front-runner among several sources, but Friedman also mentioned that Kansas City (Missouri), Sacramento (California) and Salt Lake City (Utah) are all options for the Coyotes.

It seems inevitable that the Coyotes' days in Arizona are numbered and if they are to be relocated, where do you think is the best option for them? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below!
