Ruzicka hires new agent months after having NHL contract terminated
Just months after having his NHL contract terminated by the Arizona Coyotes, unrestricted free agent forward Adam Ruzicka has hired a new agent.
According to Hockey News Hub on X, Adam Ruzicka will now be represented by Aljoa Pilko, who just opened his own agency called PlayersAgent LLC, which appears will focus on clients in the KHL, Russia's top league.
"👀 Former #Flames/#Yotes Adam Ruička joins Aljoa Pilko at PlayersAgent LLC." Hockey News Hub said.
They added, "Ruička looking to play elsewhere after that video surfaced and his contract was terminated by the #Yotes"
Ruzicka, 24, had his contract terminated by the Arizona Coyotes in late-February after a video circulated on social media allegedly showing the Slovak forward with a white powdery substance on a plate. The Coyotes placed him on unconditional waivers on Feburary 23rd and the next day, became an unrestricted free agent.
The Bratislava native appeared in 42 games this season in the NHL, 39 with Calgary and three with Arizona, where he put up nine points (three goals, six assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a minus-nine.
It's unclear what Ruzicka's plans for the 2024-25 season are, but it's likely that he'll land a contract somewhere in Europe or potentially the KHL, where quite a few of Aljoa Pilko's clients appear to play. However, it's probably safe to say that he won't be playing with another National Hockey League organization for quite a while after what happened earlier this year.
