A former player who used to play for the Bruins is now an analyst, and he had some choice words regarding a report discussing a rift in the team's locker room.

Last week, Bruins stars Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak took to social media to debunk a report from WEEI's Rich Keefe insinuating that the latter had become a distraction in the locker room.

A former Bruins player and NESN analyst weighed in on that situation in a conversation with Adam Pellerin on the latest episode of 'The Hockey Hub' podcast.

Andy Brickley slams previous report

Having played 11 seasons in the NHL, including four with the Black and Gold, analyst Andy Brickley explained how slumps can create friction.

«When you lose six in a row, there are issues,» Brickley said. « It gets emotional, it gets hard, and it's hard to keep it together as a group, and feelings are hurt. Things are said. You're trying to get each other going.»

« I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm not in the room. That's the domain of the players, and it's always been my mindset, and the way I approach my job is I can be as close to the players as I need to be, but I try to give them that room, that's their sanctuary that's where they come together as a group.»

«There are no indications from my perspective,» he said. «I don't see anything that would lend itself to being such a strong issue that it's hurting the locker room, hurting the team, hurting their performance. I don't see that.»

Of course, the Bruins have dealt with their fair share of adversity so far this season, but Brickley is convinced that there are no serious issues within the team's locker room.
