The Boston Bruins are struggling as an organization right now with a serious lack of youth, and now, Paul Bissonnette has called out their 'dog s**t' drafting.
Despite having stars like Charlie McAvoy, Jeremy Swayman, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak, the Boston Bruins are struggling to put together a team this season that can compete consistently, as they were booed off the ice on Tuesday night.
Perhaps the biggest reason for this is the lack of young stars coming through the organization, something that can be related directly back to General Manager Don Sweeney.
Now, he's been called out for it by familiar foe of the Bruins organization Paul Bissonnette, who discussed the lack of young talent in Boston on the latest Spittin' Chiclets podcast episode.
"Bring out that draft, the three first-rounders. That's what everybody always goes back to, is how dog s**t their drafting and developing has been since this regime has taken over. That's tough. Not one guy?"
What Biz was referencing at the end was a point that has been made recently, with the Bruins seeing no players make the Team USA World Juniors roster, as the team missed several opportunities to pick up home grown stars in the first-round of the draft.
Unfortunately for Bruins fans, the team have drafted just one star in the first round (Charlie McAvoy, 2016) over the past decade, and with players like Pastrnak and Marchand getting older, the future of the team is very uncertain.
At this point in time, it's unclear what the Bruins plan is beyond this season, with captain Marchand set for free agency in the summer, and even though they've made the playoffs every year under Don Sweeney, this could be his final campaign as the team's GM.
