Los Angeles Kings vs Calgary Flames Postponed due to Devastating LA Wildfires
Los Angeles is currently being ravaged by wild fires, and according to a top insider, the NHL has made a decision to postpone the Kings vs. Flames matchup.
Currently, the City of Los Angeles is struggling through devastating wild fires, which have ravaged major parts of the city as firefighters struggle to contain the situation, one that is quickly becoming a major emergency for the entire city and state.
While those in the city likely aren't even worried about an NHL game at this point, that's exactly the role of Commissioner Gary Bettman, who now needs to keep a close eye on the situation with a matchup between the LA Kings and Calgary Flames slated for Wednesday night.
According to Insider Frank Seravalli, the league have actively been in contact with state officials about whether or not the game should go ahead, with the lives of so many in LA meaning much more than a simple hockey game at this stage.
At this point, it's unclear whether or not that area of the city will become effected by the wild fires, but with so many Kings fans likely to be effected, the NHL need to weigh up whether or not it's worth playing this game or whether a postponement would be the best move in this situation.
In the latest tweet of the renowned insider Frank Seravalli, he indeed confirms that the NHL has officially postponed the game between the Kings and Flames.
Like Seravalli, we send our best wishes to anyone effected by this dreadful situation, and while fans certainly don't want to see games cancelled or postponed, hockey is so far from the mind of everyone in the city right now that it may be the best move for the league.
