At 41 years old and now with the seventh team of his career, veteran goaltender Craig Anderson played in his last NHL game tonight, starting for the Buffalo Sabres against his former team, the Ottawa Senators.
Prior to the game, Anderson made the decision of his retirement be known, and played tonight as a final send-off.
As the game came to a close, both teams paid respect to the veteran goaltender, who still shared some teammates from his time with the Senators. The end of the game brought a moment for players on both teams to give their respect to Anderson.
Anderson will retire with 709 career games played with just 318 wins, but boasting a career .912 Save Percentage and a 2.86 Goals Against Average. It matches the feeling that Anderson was always a quality goaltender that somehow always found himself on weaker teams.
