Calgary Flames fans concerned about team going forward after end of season press conference
It has been a turbulent year for the Calgary Flames. After losing some of the teams best players due to trades and free agency last summer, Brad Treliving did what he could to replace his former star players. On paper it looked like the Flames would be in decent shape and continue to be a threat in the Western Conference. Missing the playoffs with the group they had is certainly a major disappointment and now the team faces another familiar situation with some of it's key roster players.
Now Elias Lindholm, arguable the teams best player, was asked about signing a contract extension after next season and he would not commit to an answer. Terrible news for the Flames and their fans.
The Flames need to figure out how to get themselves out of these situations and keep their core players. And they need to do so fast. Losing Lindholm would be devastating to this franchise and it's fans. It sure seems that the players have tuned out the coaching staff and management and that is not good news for Calgary. It sure seems like the players no longer want Darryl Sutter as their coach. Can you blame them? Brad Treliving is going to have to decide what is in the clubs best interest and do it soon. Otherwise it will be other good players that want to leave town.
