It's not often you see hockey players give out their personal phone number to fans, but that's exactly what Jacob Trouba did for one young man Thursday night following the New York Rangers game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Trouba not only gave Isaiah Marquez-Greene the jersey off his back, he also signed it, and then informed Marquez-Greene that he was getting a scholarship for law school through the Garden of Dreams program, and capped it all off by programming his number into Marquez-Greene's phone so he could call Trouba and let him know how things are going.

"I want an invitation for when you graduate law school and I'm gonna check in on you when you go to college next year," Trouba told Marquez-Greene.

"I know your story. I feel for you," Trouba continued. "You're an amazing human."

Marquez-Greene has been following Trouba since he lived in Winnipeg from the ages of 5 to 8 years old. His family left Canada in 2012 and moved to Newtown, Connecticut. It was there that his younger sister would be killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting. Now 18, Marquez-Greene is a goalie for Taft High School in Watertown, Conn., and is an academic standout who has been accepted at the University of Connecticut.

Watching Trouba, who is well-known for his hard-nosed style of hockey, deliver the news to Marquez-Greene is heart-warming, to say the least. The young man seems at a loss for words at times, and it's hard to blame him. What a fantastic gesture!
