Another NHL Widow offers words of support to Meredith Gaudreau
Kelsie Snow, widow of former Calgary Flames Assistant GM Chris Snow who passed away in 2023 posted on social media offering words of support to Meredith Gaudreau.
Grief is an incredible emotion. One that almost nobody has been able to master, however when an individual experiences the of someone, there are always people who have been able to pick us up when we're down, out and broken. This is why the passing of Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau is so hard for many of us. We know we can turn to someone for support, but chances are they've heard what's happened and can relate in some way.
Take for example the Snow family. Chris Snow was a member of the Calgary Flames staff and became the assistant general manager of the Calgary Flames which lasted until he passed from ALS in September of 2023. Snow's wife Kelsie who is incredibly active on social media posted the following after the news of Johnny and Matthews's passing was made public. Johnny and Chris crossed paths while they were both members of the Flames.
The next day while quoting a previous tweet she had on X in May of 2022 after Gaudreau scored the game-winning goal to lift the Flames past the Dallas Stars during that season's Stanley Cup playoffs she countered with this.
You see, in that moment Johnny Gaudreau was a hero. He was a hero to a ten-year-old who was going through unimaginable things that no ten-year-old should endure and now he's being remembered and thanked by those he's knowingly or unknowingly helped through difficult times.
But now it's the responsibility of the hockey community to honour a pair taken from us too soon and to lift those who are hurting due to a senseless tragedy. While it's a difficult time for everyone, the world needs more people like Kelsie Snow and of course Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
