Bad news for Carolina Hurricanes as upcoming free agent hires ruthless new agent to negotiate next contract
It's not uncommon for NHL players to switch agents, but it's also not always a good sign. Depending on who a player hires though this can also be problematic for a team. That is likely the case for the Carolina Hurricanes who today found out that defender Brett Pesce has terminated his current agent.
Pesce is in the final year of his current contract and will be looking to cash in on his next deal. In the past Pesce has signed two contracts with the Hurricanes which is why many found it surprising his change of representation.
#LetsGoCanes D Brett Pesce has new representation. He is now repped by Judd Moldaver, EVP of Wasserman Hockey. Pesce is entering the last year of his current contract.
Moldaver also represents Auston Matthews and has a reputation for trying to maximize his clients potential earnings. With the NHL salary cap looking to climb next summer, this is the perfect time for Pesce to cash in.
