Gary Bettman facing allegations of rigging Cup Finals after embarrassing penalty call on Radko Gudas
Every year it seems like the NHL faces some sort of fan allegations for rigging games and this year is no different. However, this year's allegations seem to run much deeper than in previous years. With the Vegas Golden Knights in the finals there is a great deal of discussions about Bettman's desire to see the Knights win.
While a victory for the Golden Knights would be seen as a victory for Las Vegas, it would also be viewed as a resounding victory for expansion. A victory that would be VERY lucrative for future expansion.
During last night's game a penalty call against Radko Gudas drew significant attention after officials called one of the softest cross checks you'll probably ever see.
For any hockey fan that watches the playoffs, this check occurs on literally every play. Especially for a player like Gudas, be has built his entire career off plays like this. Fans immediately took notice to the call and begin calling out the league.
Hilariously enough later in the game the officials decided that this play was not a cross check.
It's very clear at this point, either the officials have a directive or Bettman's claim that the NHL has the best officials in the world is absolutely false.
