Carolina Hurricanes close to a reunion with former defender
While Tony DeAngelo played for the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2021-2022 National Hockey League season it would appear that a reunion is imminent if you believe what Hurricanes General Manager Don Waddell says to be true.
Waddell was asked about the possibility of signing the twenty-seven year old defenceman and he indicated that the club and DeAngelo's agent have had talks about how to make the money work to get a deal done.
DeAngelo who has skated in 340 NHL games including 64 with Carolina previously would bolster a back end that includes newly acquired Dmitry Orlov and Brent Burns amongst others. The Hurricanes have some unfinished business, after finishing first in the metropolitan division during the previous campaign but being bounced in the conference finals by the Florida Panthers.
It may be an important season for the Hurricanes as three of their top six defenceman look to become free agents at the end of the season.
It's no secret the Hurricanes have had major interest in DeAngelo with the trade that fell through before he was bought out by the Flyers, is he finally on his way back? It certainly looks that way.
