Sometimes, you have to know when to keep your mouth shut. However, if Tony DeAngelo of the Carolina Hurricanes hasn't learned that lesson by now, it's likely he never will.
DeAngelo and the Canes were taking on the San Jose Sharks last night, a game Carolina won 6-3. With under two minutes left in the third, DeAngelo headed for the corner to retrieve a puck, but ran right into a referee and fell to the ice. DeAngelo got up and can be seen chewing out the official, which earned him two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.
It didn't end there. The scoresheet shows DeAngelo was given a 10-minute misconduct at 20:00 of the third period. No word on exactly what happened, but it's safe to assume he resumed his "discussion" with the official.
We'll have to wait for a ruling from the league to see if DeAngelo will face further punishment.
