According to TSN's Chris Johnston, Perry has cleared unconditional waivers and will have his contract terminated and become an unrestricted free agent.
Perry, 38, was placed on unconditional waivers on Tuesday, which came as a big shock to many in the hockey world after it was revealed he was away from the team for what he called "personal reasons".
Later in the day on Tuesday, Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson revealed the reason they decided to part ways with Perry had to do with workplace matters.
The Peterborough, Ontario native had nine points (four goals, five assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a minus-five in 16 games.
At this time, it's unclear what may come next for Corey Perry, whether he finds a new team here in North America or Europe or decides to hang up the skates.
