Chicago Blackhawks' 2025 Winter Classic jersey leaks on social media
The Chicago Blackhawks' 2025 Winter Classic jersey, which is supplied by Fanatics has leaked, and it may be one of the best we've seen in quite some time.
The 2024-25 season marks the start of the Fanatics era as the uniform supplier for the National Hockey League. While they've fallen short in terms of the quality of their merchandise in the past, the jerseys appear to be really well made, so things are promising, for now.
With Fanatics Fest getting underway in New York City on Friday, this gave the company another opportunity to show off their new NHL uniforms for fans to take a look at before they become available for purchase in September and some members of the media were even able to get a sneak peek at a jersey that's not been released yet.
Fanatics' first big NHL event that they'll have to create uniforms for is the 2025 Winter Classic, which is set to be held at Wrigley Field in Chicago on New Year's Eve where the Blackhawks will host the St. Louis Blues. In a social media post on Saturday, the Blackhawks' uniform for the event has leaked and it looks pretty sweet.
The main colour of the leaked uniform is red, which is the first time they've donned that colour in an outdoor game. On the front of the uniform, the logo is very similar to what they wore in the early 1950s, with some slight alterations such as the four red stars and the current version of their primary logo on the inside of the circle.
There are also five stripes in the middle of the uniform and sleeves - three white and two black, while white and black bands feature at the bottom of the jersey. On each sleeve, the Blackhawks will have their current secondary logo, which debuted in 1955-56.
As for St. Louis' uniforms for the Winter Classic, details aren't known at this time but it's safe to say that they'll likely go with a white base colour for theirs. The logo and era it'll be inspired by is still TBD, but perhaps they could look at doing something with the uniforms/logo they wore from 1984 to 1987.
As mentioned, the 2025 Winter Classic is set for New Year's Eve this year, a first for the National Hockey League, with puck drop between the Blackhawks and Blues at 5 pm ET.
