The hockey world continues to mourn the passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau and while at the NHL Players Media Tour in Las Vegas, a number of the league's stars shared tributes to the former Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets forward.
Among those to speak on the passing of Johnny Gaudreau was Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard. Bedard said that Gaudreau was an inspiration for him and other players around the National Hockey League who are smaller in stature and said that he motivated a lot of people.
Johnny Gaudreau did a lot for the game of hockey, especially for smaller players. He proved everyone wrong growing up and showed that despite his size, he could be an effective player at the NHL level and was a star, registering 743 points in 763 games
The losses of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau is tough for the hockey community and will hurt for quite some time. It's very likely each team around the National Hockey League will hold a moment of silence to remember them at their respective home openers this coming season. Meanwhile, the Flames and Blue Jackets will likely also have their own special tributes planned to remember Johnny Gaudreau, with many fans calling for his number 13 to be retired.
The thoughts of everyone at Blade of Steel continue to be with the Gaudreau family, as well as friends and teammates of Johnny and Matthew at this difficult time.
