This year, the Colorado Avalanche were decimated by injury, including captain Gabriel Landeskog who didn't play this year after seriously damaging his knee m the road to winning the 2022 Stanley Cup.

In May, Landeskog underwent a cartilage transplant on his right knee after it was speculated he would return at some point during the 2023 playoffs. Now, it looks like his career may be in jeopardy due to this operation.

NBA star Lonzo Ball as well as former NHL defender Marc a Methot, both have had the same surgery as Landeskog. Ball is never expected to lace them up in the NBA again, while Methot has said he's never been able to skate anywhere close to an NHL level and probably never will again;

While Landeskog has said he hasn't considered retirement, from the sounds of it, it may be his time anyway.

If it is, Landeskog leaves the NHL having scored 248 goals and collecting 323 assists for a total of 571 points over the course of 11 seasons with the Avalanche.

Hopefully, Landeskog does the right thing for himself and his family, but it could be very likely that we've see him play his last game in the NHL.
