Oliver Kylington has found a new home just over a month after he left the Calgary Flames organization as an unrestricted free agent.
In a post on social media on Monday afternoon, the Colorado Avalanche announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth $1.05 million USD with the Stockholm, Sweden native.
Kylington, 27, has spent his entire career with the Calgary Flames, who selected him in the second round, 60th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Kylington has been very open about his mental health recently and didn't play during the 2022-23 season to work on it after being in a bad spot, saying that he suppressed his feelings and neglected his emotional well-being.
In 33 games for the Calgary Flames last season, Kylington had eight points (three goals, five assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a minus-six.
