Breaking News - Eastern Conference head coach and goalie coach terminated after disappointing season
The NHL season is less than 24-hours old and teams have already begun their off-season changes. Yesterday the Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals both announced they were parting ways with their Head Coach. Now less than a day later another team has joined the party.
Today the Columbus Blue Jackets announced that they had terminated the contract of Head Coach Brad Larsen, and that they would not be renewing the current deal of goalie coach Manny Legace.
A statement posted by the team on Twitter read:
The Columbus Blue Jackets relieve Brad Larsen of his duties as head coach. Club also announces it will not renew the contract of goaltending coach Manny Legace.
Over the past two seasons Larsen, 45, led the Blue Jackets to a 62-86-16 record in 164 games. His contract was set to run out at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
