Cole Sillinger of the Columbus Blue Jackets is taking some heat online after a podcast where she claims he's a player
In the age of social media, it's probably a good idea for any professional athlete to be careful how they conduct themselves. A high-profile singer, actress, dancer and model who dated a former first-round NHL pick, and claims he wasn't the greatest guy.
Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and model. She was just featured on "Therapuss with Jake Shane," a popular podcast on YouTube. While on the show, McRae recalled dating Cole Sillinger, taken 12th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2021.
"Tate McRae caught her ex (Cole Sillinger) on Tinder while they were still dating.
'I had a Tinder profile [of my boyfriend] sent to me by my best friend. I said «this must be fake..» () It was verified.'"
According to various sites, Sillinger and McRae dated for a period that spanned 2022 and 2023.
If she is telling the absolute truth, Sillinger really played into the whole stereotypical hockey dude thing hard. Think Reilly and Jonesy from Letterkenny. And, this honestly sounds exactly like something they might have done on the show. McRae, who is from Calgary, appeared on the American TV reality show So You Think You Can Dance?, and was the first Canadian to make the final round. Since then, she has had a number of hit songs that she either wrote, or co-wrote.
