Someone needs to tell the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild it's still preseason. The two teams met tonight , and things were chippy almost right off the bat.
With the third period half over, and the Wild having a comfortable lead, Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon decided to drop the gloves. This is two big guys who have fought each other at least once before, but it's been a while. Several good punches land in this one before the two are separated by officials.
Fans were reportedly loving the hate between the two teams, with one of them dumping popcorn on Benn while he was in the penalty box. He wasn't too happy about it.
"A fan just threw popcorn at Jamie Benn in the penalty box and now he's screaming at the fans. This is turning ugly." Michael Russo
On the very next faceoff, they were at it again, with Brandon Duhaime going after Mason Marchment.
Minnesota won the game 4-0.
