The Edmonton Oilers are now 1-3-1 to start the 2023-24 season, and it's clear frustration is starting to set in.
During a game against the Winnipeg Jets last night, Evander Kane, who's usually expected to score goals, dropped the gloves and helmets for an old-fashioned fight with Brenden Dillon. Both would land some good shits before it ended.
During the intermission, Kane was asked about his mindset going into the fight. He sarcastically explained that he was tired of not getting any ice time so he figured he might as well spend some time in the penalty box.
Kane has one assist and is a minus-6 in five games so far this season. He was given just 14:04 minutes of ice time last night and was relegated to the Oilers' third line. The Jets won the game 3-2 in overtime.
