The Bakersfield Condors season ended, and as such, the Edmonton Oilers have recalled goaltender Jack Campbell and defenseman Philip Broberg, which is likely for the remainder of the Oilers participation in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Campbell, who split time between Edmonton and Bakersfield, will probably be watching from the press box unless Stuart Skinner or Calvin Pickard falter or get injured.

However, the Oilers appear to also be carrying Ryan Fanti, so at this point, who knows if Campbell will see any ice time?

Campbell, 31, has been seen largely as a buyout candidate as of late after the Oilers put him on waivers early this year, at times he's even struggled at the American Hockey League level. Will this be when he gets his National Hockey League career back on track,If he even gets into a game that is? Only time will tell.

The wailers definitely were not expecting this kind of up and down movement from Jack Campbell when they signed him to a five-year deal, but when you take a gamble on an NHL player who hasn't really proven himself at the level, that's something you have to live with.

I genuinely hope he gets back on track, but the chances that happening given his tenure in Edmonton are very slim.
