Wayne Gretzky was one of if not the greatest player of all time, he's recently opened up about the time he lost his temper in a game during in the NHL.

Gretzky was recently on an episode of the Missin Curfew podcast with former NHL players Shane O'Brien and Scottie Upshall, revealing that it was a former teammate when he was with the Edmonton Oilers that really got him fired up in an important moment during a playoff game.

"I remember we were playing Calgary and we were winning 2-1, 30-8 were the shots for us. Kenny (Linseman) took two silly penalties in the second period. I looked up and the shots were 30-10 and we're losing 3-2. He sat on the bench and the only time I think in my career that I yelled at a player. Kenny If you take another penalty I'm going to break my stick over your head!

Sure enough, he scored two goals and an assist and we won 7-4 in the third. I apologized to him after the game, I am really sorry about what I said. Kenny replied that he needed it."

The Oilers would beat the Flames in seven games in the Conference semifinals before sweeping the Minnesota North Stars in the next round. They beat the New York Islanders in five games to win their first Stanley Cup, kicking off a dynasty run of four championships in five seasons from 1983-1988.

Linseman would only be around to win one Stanley Cup with the Oilers during the 1983-1984 season. He was traded only weeks after winning the Stanley Cup to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Mike Krushelnyski.
