Earlier today the Los Angeles Kings traded Centre Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Goaltender Darcy Kuemper and if that wasn't confusing enough, in a tweet that thanked the Dubois for his time in LA they may have leaked their new logo in the process.
In the tweet, which featured a photo of Dubois, and THANK YOU along the side, the logo which has been used on alternate jerseys in the past was visible within the release.
Since the leak there have been people who have pointed out that the new logo may have slight alterations to it, however, the fact of the matter is that it's possible that someone who works in their communications department didn't do their due diligence and released the logo without even realizing what they were doing at the moment.
If by chance someone was supposed to use a different template to thank Dubois over Twitter, could they be in trouble for doing so, or is this a smoke-in-mirrors type situation for people to be caught off guard when the Kings do get around to releasing their new branding including their logo and jersey design?
