Yesterday afternoon the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced that Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman was being suspended for three games. The league announced the suspension under an infraction listed as unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident occurred, at the conclusion of overtime in a game between the Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Ryan Hartman was furious after being high-sticked in the third period by Noah Hanifin with no call.

Minnesota's Ryan Hartman has been suspended for three games for unsportsmanlike conduct for his actions during Saturday's game against Vegas.

Today Hartman met with media and discussed the play that cost him the next three games. This at a time when the Minnesota Wild were hoping to be fighting for a playoff spot.

Ryan Hartman said he knew what he did, throwing stick on the ice, was unacceptable. Said he was «over the top frustrated.» Didn't intend to hurt anyone. He obviously accepts suspension, something to learn from

Well, Hartman was accountable for his actions, this isn't the first time he's been suspended. This time however, comes at the worst possible time for the team.

According to Cap Friendly , Hartman is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Plays like this could be a key factor if the Wild decide to not tender Hartman a contract for next season.
