After landing the trio of Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei this past summer, many people believed that the Nashville Predators would be a lock for the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
Through 28 games however, they've struggled to a 7-15-6 record, making them one of the worst teams in the league even with one of the more star studded rosters currently in the NHL due to the lack of depth around the big name stars.
Frustration is growing, with star forward Marchessault recently calling out Head Coach Andrew Brunette with a cryptic comment, seemingly calling out the dysfunction in the locker room.
Now, Brunette has sent a harsh message of his own to the team when asked about their struggles, revealing that he could scratch every single player on the ice given their level of play thus far in 2024/25.
While both Roman Josi and Filip Forsberg continue to put up solid numbers, they're yet to contribute to any type of momentum for this team in 2024/25, and with the depth beyond their stars being very questionable, it's unclear where this team goes from here.
Obviously, Brunette can't scratch everyone at the same time, but if the team continue to struggle, we could be looking at GM Barry Trotz potentially becoming a big seller at the trade deadline, and after so much hope in the summer, it's safe to say that could make them one of the biggest letdowns in recent NHL memory.
