Breaking - Former New York Islander Passes away
Some sad news out of the New York Islander organization today as they announce a former defenseman has passed away.
According to the official Islander Twitter account, Gerry Hart has passed away at the age of 75, take a look;
The #Isles� are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Gerry Hart.
Hart, 75, joined the Islanders as an inaugural member in 1972 and played on Long Island until 1979, reaching the playoffs five times in seven seasons.
Hart played 15 years in the National Hockey League, including his first 7 seasons for the Islanders. In 730 games split between the Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, St Louis Blues and the Quebec Nordique, he scored 29 goals and added 150 assists for a total of 179 points.
