Jacob Trouba catches Alex Nylander puck watching
Jacob Trouba is without question the biggest hitter in the NHL. The New York Rangers Captain never passes up on an opportunity to make a physical impact. Today was no different for Trouba.
As the Penguins brought the puck up the ice, a forward pass was tipped into the Rangers' zone by Alex Nylander. As the puck heads into the zone, Nylander loses track of where Trouba was on the ice. Trouba immediately stepped up and absolutely crushed Nylander. The hit sends Nylander to the ice and breaks his stick in half, but Nylander appears overall unharmed on the play.
After the whistle the Penguins immediately tried to gain some retribution. On the play Evgeni Malkin was called for cross checking Trouba. The Rangers were unable to capitalize on their powerplay opportunity and trail 2-1 after the 2nd period.
